This takes me back to my college days as an undergrad Electrical Engineering student, and afterwards many many years ago when I fooled around with making digital music way before the time of CD's, using Fast Fourier Transformations on a KIM-1 microprocessor that probably now is a Smithsonian Museum exhibit. It only had 16K of RAM, but with some extra circuitry was able to mimic sounds of pianos, trumpets, violins, flutes, church organs, etc! It was my senior project in college. I continued experimenting with it and enhancing it for 4 or 5 years after college, until others started marketing more polished digital music devices, including IBM for their first home PC. Digital Music Couldn't Exist Without the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT)

This is what I used in senior year of my Electrical Engineering study for my Bachelor's of Science degree to do what I wrote above: The KIM-1

"...Excellence is the very opposite of perfectionism. Perfectionism is losing your true self in the demands of society, and trying to emulate a person who is not you and whom you can never become. Excellence, on the other hand, is becoming the center of your own universe, and from that grounded, centered position, shining your light into the world by using your unique talents..."
